This is my 2nd ever review, don't complain if it is bad.
Gameplay
Basically your racing around a track gaining items and taking out the other characters in order to get 1st place. You can skid around corners to get a temporary speed boost (when the E's turn orange), but all and all Grand Prix is really easy, as you have no threat of red or blue shells. Other modes in this game are VS where you take on 1-3 other friends that are trying to get first place, Battle where you again play 1-3 other friends that are trying to take out your balloons and the last one standing wins, and finally time trial where you try to get the fastest time.
Grand Prix
In Grand Prix, you face 7 other computers (6 if you play 2 player Grand Prix) and you try to get the most points at the end to take home the gold trophy, but if you place outside the top 4 you will have to try the track again until you do get in the top 4. At the end of the game if you do not place in the top three you do not get a trophy and you get blown up by a bomb-bomb.
Time Trial
You are trying to get the fastest time on the track, and on three tracks if you get a fast enough time, you will unlock a staff ghost. The tracks are Luigi Circut, Mario Raceway and Royal Raceway. You get three mushrooms that you can use over the course of three laps. You cannot save ghost replays to the game, you need an add on (I forget what it is called).
Battle Mode
You battle 1-3 of your friends trying to knock out all their balloons before you loose all of yours. If you are playing a 3 or 4 player battle the player will turn into a bomb bomb and try to take someone else out and make them loose a balloon.
Graphics and Sound
The graphics look pretty good, similar to what we saw with Super Mario 64 and that looked pretty good. The karts and the character animations are really fast and fluent. The sound is really good in this game, sound effects are pretty good. The music does it's job but your not going to remember it.
Controls
The controls in this game are simple, you can figure them out easily enough and it works well, no real issues with the control stick or anything.
Misc.
The local multiplayer in this game is really fun, VS, 2 player Grand Prix and battle are really fun, but once you beat the game there is not too much to do as there is no single player battle or Versus Mode in this game.
